ORLEN Południe as one of the greatest employers in the region and a responsible neighbour takes active part in residents’ lives. It takes care of education in a special manner, especially that schools are located in the immediate vicinity of both refineries forming the Company. In March this year, ORLEN Południe entered into cooperation with Michalicki Upper Secondary School Complex named after Priest Bronisław Markiewicz in Miejsce Piastowe and thereby engaged in the process of educating future specialists who, with time, will be able to accede to the team of the Company’s staff members.
The project aims at reconstructing the rich tradition of vocational education with chemical and technical profiles. Activation of a class educating chemical technology technicians, in autumn 2019, which shall be under the auspices of the Company will be the next step. In addition, the school will adapt its educational offer to the needs of ORLEN Południe.
“Contemporary, very competitive labour market requires engagement from us already at the stage of educating future specialists. A modern firm i.e. ORLEN Południe perfectly understands these needs. Therefore, it wants to have an influence on quality of knowledge conveyed to young people so as to prepare them for challenges as well as possible, which are present on the labour market,” says Jarosław Wróbel, President of the Management Board of ORLEN Południe.
Within the agreement, ORLEN Południe specialists will participate in classes during which they will share knowledge with staff members and pupils of the school as well as shall convey good practices. Moreover, students of the class covered by the patronage will be able to acquire necessary skills during work placement.
